Boy Scout Troop 678
Troop 678 is chartered by the Bay Harbour United Methodist Church in League City, Texas.
Troop 678 is part of the Bay Area Council Coastal District.
Meetings are held every Monday at 7:00pm at the Bay Harbour Family Life Center at 3459 FM 518 E., League City, Tx. That’s the newer building closest to Claris Glen Dr.

Troop 678 was first chartered in 1993. In 1997, the troop moved to our current charter with Bay Harbor United Methodist Church. This was also the year of our first Eagle Scout! In 2003, Dr. Michael Collins became the Scoutmaster, and in 2013, Roger Griffin became Scoutmaster. In 2018, the troop celebrated its 25th anniversary, and in 2020 we celebrated our 94th Eagle Scout! Troop 678 is an active scout-led troop that typically plans at least one outing a month. This includes at least one summer camp; we love going to Colorado, but mix it up with other premier camps in Texas and nearby states. We also participate in winter camps at Thanksgiving or Christmas to Louisiana or to Lost Pines. Sometimes we do both! Our favorite destinations for weekend activities include swimming in the Frio River at Garner State Park, backpacking, and rock climbing at Enchanted Rock.
The troop meets weekly, and the scouts hold patrol meetings where they plan the next outing and rank advancement meetings where they learn outdoor skills like first aid and rope typing. A few times a year, the troop also teaches a merit badge class. Typically this is an Eagle-required merit badge.
